Collection: Irrational Wines

Whether we're in the vineyard or the cellar, our approach to wine making is decidedly light handed. When it comes to process and technique, we're intentional but we're also always experimenting and pushing boundaries in the pursuit of knowledge and better wine.

We grow Pinot Noir (Wädenswill and Pommard clones), Pinot Gris and a wide variety of vitis labrusca grapes in the Puget Sound AVA of Washington State.  Our estate vineyard was planted in the late 1980s as a trial vineyard for vitis vinifera grapes in the Nooksack Valley.  As it turns out, the vineyard is in a prime location on the Southern Slope of Sumas Mountain where it receives an abundant amount of sunshine during the day and experiences cool nights with marine breezes.
